Sailing Yachts are leisure vessels equipped with mast/s and sails. The main advantage of Sailing yachts in comparison to Motor Yachts is that they can cross oceans and vast distances without repumping oil. However, they are more dependent on weather conditions and offer a slower cruising speed than Motor Yachts because they are mainly operated through sails. They also have more limitations in the design (hydrodynamics and aerodynamics), Sailing Yachts usually have smaller sizes in height and width and smaller volumes. They are often less eequipped in interior space than Motor yachts, but they are usually less sensible to ocean conditions such as roll, pitch and Yaw. 2 major types not depending on the length of sailing Yacht are Cruising Yachts and Racing Yachts. Navigating, mooring and operating Sailing Yachts are more difficult than doing so with Motor ones. Thus, the maritime law offers sailing vessels priority over motor ones.
